LOVE art for life!

As a Certified Art Teacher, I teach art lessons from my Northern Meridian home. Small-group art lessons are ideal for students to have space to improve skills and connect with others. Classes max out at 6 students.

The art lessons are an hour long for four weeks. Each four week block has a specific emphasis. Join a class or get on a waitlist for an upcoming class.

All art supplies are included except a sketchbook. I believe that every child should have their own special sketchbook.

During the class you are welcome to drop off your child or stay in our living room if you’re more comfortable with that.

I try grouping students who are closer in age with each other. Typically I have elementary school aged children together, middle schoolers together, and high schoolers together.

If you would like to have several of your children in a class, you’ll get a sibling discount of $10. You are welcome to invite enough children to create another class.

A little bit about me.

I’ve taught art in the public school setting for years. I have a degree in Art and Art Education k-12 from ISU. I’ve been teaching private art lessons for years. Personally I love teaching art history and techniques to help students be life-long artists.

I’m a homeschooling mom of two and love it! My husband and I are Financial Coaches; we’re kinda like a personal trainer for our client’s finances. I love to hike, ride e-bikes, read, and of course-be creative!

Drawing Essentials

Week 1:
Learn How to See

In this lesson we learn to draw 3-D objects using blind-contour drawings. This helps train the eye of students to focus on what they are drawing.

Week 3:
Drawing from Life

Artist’s will learn techniques on how to draw from life. 

Students will learn about different drawing tools and how to use them properly.

Week 2:
All About Line

This week we learn about different types of line and how they are used in drawings and cartoon work. Artist’s will learn how to use line to create the five values.

Week 4:
Still Life Drawing

We put all the skills learned into practice on drawing a still life. Artist’s will learn about famous still-life paintings through history. This drawing will focus on proportion, value changes, and variety of lines.
