About Me

Hello! I'm Gitima. I use my educational training (Masters degree and Ph.D. in Counseling), more than 15 years of experience as a professor, counselor, coach, and mental health consultant, and research in Positive Psychology to help clients achieve their relationships, career, and mental health goals without sacrificing one aspect of life for another. 

As a professor, I have mentored more than 500 counselors and therapists, and served as the Chair of Mental Health Task Force at California State University. I was also invited by Stanford University and several other organizations to present my research findings on sense of purpose, self-worth, life satisfaction, and career success. 

As a mother, I understand that juggling with life’s multiple roles and responsibilities can often bring feelings of stress, overwhelm, and guilt, which are so important to address to not only achieve personal well-being but also nurture truly happy families. 

As a Coach, Consultant, and Counselor, I have supported clients from different age-groups and cultural backgrounds to effectively cope with life's various struggles and transitions. My sessions are rooted in research, counseling training, and humanistic philosophy that respects the vast potential and unique purpose of every person's life.
